How do you all make your martinis? : r/Gin - Reddit
Jan 6, 2022 · As a whiskey drinker who converted to gin, I make my martinis essentially exactly as you make a Manhattan. 2 oz liquor, 1 oz vermouth, 2 dashes bitters. For a martini, I go whatever gin I have on hand, orange bitters and Dolin dry vermouth. For what it's worth though, I happen to like Martini and Rossi.
New to this…what on earth is a dry martini, actually.
Sep 16, 2023 · Originally a dry martini referred to a martini made with dry gin. That's what a dry martini actually is. What is the proper way to order a "Dirty but Neat" martini?
Aug 7, 2020 · This is a gin martini, light dirty, very dry, light ice. ( or rocks if you want a normal amount of ice.) I also default to shaking a dirty martini unless you ask for it stirred, not true for all bartenders though. Neat means right from the bottle, mix it, add ice, add water, anything and it is no longer neat. Dirty and neat are mutually exclusive.
What do you say when ordering your martini? : r/cocktails - Reddit
I just say gin martini. If they start asking me questions like what specific ingredients, or how wet/dry, I'll answer. If I've been talking to the bartender and we've established that we're both cocktail nerds, I might ask his preferred spec. Unless it sounds absolutely horrible, I'll probably go along with it and try it; always try new things ...
Help me understand the Martini - What am I doing wrong?
The Martinez cocktail is a predecessor to the Martini, and calls for an Old Tom Gin and Sweet Vermouth. By subbing Antica Formula for the dry vermouth in your martini, I'd personally say you were closer to making a Martinez riff than a Martini variation, but …

Oct 18, 2019 · The best reason that traditionally stirred drinks should be stirred is to control the dilution.. The rate at which dilution occurs is subject to many factors, like ambient temperature, humidity, and "quality" of the ice (i.e., the size of the cubes and how, er, crushy it is).

Apr 28, 2021 · Gin does have a clear definition and can't be traded around so easily. Plymouth isn't just over proof or navy strength, but a unique style that is now only exemplified through this brand and region. If you're making a martini, some gins excel at laying down bitter root flavors that pair well with aromatized wines and creating a whole big flavor ...
