Feb 19, 2021 · I have both. Plus a HBC blanket. They sit in a closet. There is an Alpaca blanket (either a Banderita or a lighter weight one) on my bed most of the year. I am also a fan of the Alpaca blankets. I have two queen size military banderitas. The only other wool blanket I have experience is a Polish military surplus.

As I have gotten deep, deep into fur trade history, and the economics of it, tracing artifacts from the ground back to the actual factories, Im just not in love with HBC's anymore. Id rather support artisans who are my friends and acquaintances.

Jun 22, 2015 · Hbc point blankets are made of 100% wool and are pre-shrunk as part of the manufacturing process. So you can hand wash your blanket in a gentle detergent like Zero or Woollite.
