The Trump administration is in talks with several schools about future funding following allegations of antisemitism.

The White House is seeking fines from several universities it says failed to stop antisemitism on campus, including from Harvard University, in exchange for access to federal funding, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday,

In March, the Trump administration said it was penalizing Columbia over how it handled last year's protests by canceling $400 million in federal funding. It contended that Columbia's response to alleged antisemitism and harassment of Jewish and Israeli members of the university community was insufficient.

Harvard president Alan Garber, an economist and doctor, is battling the White House in court on behalf of all higher education.

Harvard University urged a federal judge on Monday to order President Donald Trump's administration to restore about $2.5 billion in funding.

The university has previously sued the government over attempts to revoke its funding and ability to host foreign academics.
