Millions of people across the U.S. are at risk from thunderstorms, large hail and some tornadoes this Easter weekend, according to meteorologists. The severe threat of a powerful spring weather system could disrupt plans across much of the central U.S. from Friday through Sunday evening, affecting areas from Texas all the way to Michigan.

Some families may opt for an indoor Easter Egg Hunt, but those planning on attending any of the events may want to look for the relocation notice.

Lafayette is expected to see heavy rain starting Easter Sunday into Tuesday, according to National Weather Service forecasters. Friday and Saturday starts off mostly sunny, with expected highs between 82 and 84, and lows between 69 and 71. Southeast winds will be 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
