Ford (NYSE:F) ran into more issues with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (“NHTSA”) and was hit with a $165M fine after the regulator found that the company delayed a recall of more than 620K vehicles and gave consumers inaccurate information regarding a faulty rear camera.

The federal government announced on Thursday that it has levied a $165 million civil penalty against the Ford Motor Company over the automaker's failure to comply with federal recall requirements. It is the second largest penalty in the history of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration,

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the penalty is the second-largest in its history and is part of a consent order that will also require Ford to review all recalls it has issued over the last three years to ensure they have been adequate.

The three-year consent order includes a civil penalty of up to $165 million, which is shy only of the Takata air bag consent order.
