The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for parts of the Kansas City area beginning Thursday evening.

Up to 3 inches of snow could fall overnight in central and west central Missouri and southeastern Kansas Thursday night.

City manager Brian Platt says planning, technology and an aggressive approach to snow removal are making city streets passable.
