In an effort to help Texas flooding victims, the organization is accepting donations for its Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, which its website says will “support nonprofit organizations, first responder agencies, and local governments actively involved in response, relief, and recovery efforts.”

The organizations working together to help the flood victims said that 'no additional in-kind donations (clothing, food, supplies) are needed in Kerrville.' They said the best way to help is with monetary donations.

With hundreds confirmed dead or still missing, questions remain about the local response to flood warnings. Meanwhile, lawmakers will weigh measures to mitigate future disasters.

The department shared on Facebook that Captain Tony Fernandez has died, calling him a "brother whose absence leaves a hole that can never be filled. He was with Ingram VFD for 15 years, the post says. It's unclear if Fernandez died as a result of the floods that overwhelmed Kerr County the morning of July Fourth.
