The NFL is banning the use of smelling salts and ammonia packets before and during all games, a ruling that has upset 49ers TE George Kittle.

On Tuesday, the NFL sent a memo out to its teams stating that the league is banning ammonia inhalants, colloquially known as smelling salts, effective immediately. While 49ers star Fred Warner was being interviewed live on NFL Network, Kittle barged in to effectively break the news about the new ban — and have his version of Festivus in August.
