This 1957 DeSoto Firedome Sportsman has the unknown 341ci DeSoto Hemi and iron-case A466 TorqueFlite three-speed. It was a muscle car before its time.

Take this 1956 DeSoto Firedome Sportsman into consideration – but do try to ignore the seventy years that have gone by, through, and under it.

The first DeSoto hemi had a displacement of 276 cubic inches and produced 160 horsepower. Dubbed the "Firedome," it went under the hood of DeSoto's new model of the same name.

The DeSoto Firedome, Adventurer and Fireflite models—also ridiculously rare these days—had a very similar appearance in the late 1950s with the twin-headlight look.
