Juneteenth, which is every June 19, is a federal holiday that celebrates the emancipation of all enslaved people in the U.S.

For the occasion, cities and cultural, nonprofit and arts organizations have planned dance and musical performances, historical retrospectives and family festivals — and some will take place beyond June 19.
