The Kerala High Court reviewed the conviction and death sentence of 24-year-old Greeshma for murdering her boyfriend in 2022. Greeshma appealed, citing jurisdiction and fair trial concerns.

A native of Deviyodu village in Tamil Nadu ’s Kanyakumari district, Greeshma met Sharon from Parassala, a town on the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border, on a bus in 2021 while he was on his way to his college.

“Every contact leaves a trace," said a lower court in Kerala while convicting 24-year-old Greeshma and her uncle, Nirmalakumaran Nair, for the murder of 23-year-old Sharon Raj.
