It was a quiet weekend here in Central Illinois, but as the work week gets started, activity is expected to pick up. Although Monday should serve as another relatively mild day, be on the lookout for a little drizzle in the morning and some increasing winds later on in the day.

Forecasters are warning about a wet and windy end to the weekend, as a big storm system is expected to pummel the New York City area on Sunday. Meteorologist Jim Connolly from the National Weather Service said around an inch of rain could fall in the region Sunday afternoon and night. Strong winds are also expected to accompany the storm.

The National Weather Service says it will be very windy on Saturday and storms could move through in the afternoon and evening.
