UFC 311 was a wild ride. Islam Makhachev and Jiri Prochazka were among the four main card acts to score stoppages. Even the one fight that went the distance was memorable as Merab Dvalishvili showed inspiring will against Umar Nurmagomedov.

The results of UFC 311 caused significant changes in the divisional rankings of the promotion. The event took place on Jan. 18 in Los Angeles and marked the UFC's first pay-per-view of the year.

Dvalishvili, Nurmagomedov, Jiri Prochazka and Jailton Almeida earned $50,000 UFC 311 fight-night bonuses. Debuting fighters went 1-1 on the card. UFC 311 drew an announced attendance of 18,370 for a live gate of $10,206,350. Betting favorites went 8-5 on the card. Betting favorites improved to 1-1 in UFC headliners this year.

UFC kicks off the new year with a pay-per-view that will be tough to beat. UFC 311 is topped by two terrific title fights: UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev vs. Arman Tsarukyan and bantamweight champ Merab Dvalishvili vs.

Makhachev beat Moicano by first-round submission in the main event, while Dvalishvili picked up a ... light heavyweight champions, beating Jamahal Hill by third-round knockout.

Despite a tragic outbreak of wildfires across greater Los Angeles and a change to the main event just 24 hours before, UFC 311 proved to be an exciting kickoff to the 2025 pay-per-view schedule for the world's leading MMA promotion on Saturday.
