The Green Bay Packers' dreams of landing DK Metcalf are alive and well after he requested a trade this week. The Seattle Seahawks will reportedly explore trade options, pushing the door wide open for the Packers to acquire the veteran wide receiver they need.
A possible trade that could send Seattle Seahawks receiver D.K. Metcalf to Green Bay is growing more likely as the star receiver has reportedly requested to be traded elsewhere. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport,
The Green Bay Packers have a franchise quarterback in Jordan Love, who specializes in throwing deep routes that give his wide receivers chances to make big plays. The problem in Green is that they lack the true dominant outside wideout who can best take advantage of those route concepts.
Aaron Rodgers, who has a 7-4 lifetime record against Seattle — and knocked them out of the playoffs in January 2020 — was named a potential fit by John Breech of CBS Sports. Breech ranked the team's top five options and at No. 4, he lists Rodgers, however, he admits it's a long shot.
