The JCPenney stores at the Coronado Center and Cottonwood Mall are included in a portfolio of 121 JCPenney stores that hit the market this month. Newmark is listing the portfolio on behalf of Copper Property CTL Pass Through Trust, according to its website.

The department store chain is teaming up with the Sparc Group in an all-equity merger to form Catalyst Brands, the Wall Street Journal reported. The company will be led by Marc Rosen, who most recently served as the chief executive officer of JCPenney. It will be based in Plano, Texas, where JCPenney is headquartered.

Both JCPenney locations in Albuquerque are among more than a hundred stores that are up for sale as a part of the retailer's bankruptcy plan.

Eddie Bauer and a handful of other brands are under the same umbrella as JCPenney after a merger between retail groups.
