The Charlotte, North Carolina-based company said it had profit of $1.22 per share. The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 64 cents per share.

Western Alliance Bancorp (WAL) on Monday reported fourth-quarter net income of $216.9 million. The bank, based in Phoenix, said it had earnings of $1.95 per share. The results exceeded Wall Street expectations.

BETHESDA, Md. (AP) — BETHESDA, Md. (AP) — AGNC Investment Corp. (AGNC) on Monday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $122 million. On a per-share basis, the Bethesda, Maryland-based company said it had profit of 10 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 37 cents per share.

Verizon Communications (VZ) came out with quarterly earnings of $1.10 per share, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.09 per share. This compares to earnings of $1.08 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.

CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) — CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) — Enterprise Financial Services Corp. (EFSC) on Monday reported fourth-quarter profit of $48.8 million. The Clayton, Missouri-based bank said it had earnings of $1.28 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $1.32 per share.
