Election offices in over half of Minnesota’s 87 counties have received bomb threats since Friday, Secretary of State Steve Simon said Tuesday.

"Although Election Day is over, election officials across the state are continuing to verify that the election was free, fair, accurate, and secure," Secretary of State Steve Simon said.

The threats come as election workers are still in the process of verifying the results of the 2024 election. Election offices in more than half of Minnesota’s counties have been targeted with emailed bomb threats since Nov.

The State Board of Elections is coordinating with federal officials after 15 local boards of elections received bomb threats as votes were being counted Friday, according to Maryland’s elections administrator.

The Secretary of State says he is coordinating with local, state and federal officials to respond as election offices continue work to certify the results.
