After a stellar show in the T20I series, Varun Chakravarthy earns a call-up to the ODI squad. The spinner started training with the team in Nagpur on Tuesday.

Varun Chakravarthy has been included in India’s squad for the three-match ODI series against England that starts from 6 February. Varun was impressive in the India-England T20 series, picking 14 wickets from five matches.

Wicketkeeper Jamie Smith is likely to miss England's first two one-day internationals against India but is expected to be fit for the Champions Trophy.

Rumours of Chakravarthy being added to India's squad for the Champions Trophy were rife for a while but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selection committee, led by Ajit Agarkar, decided to leave him out of the marquee event. The Kolkata Knight Riders spinner wasn't picked for the ODI series against England too.

In-form mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy has been included in the Indian ODI squad after his heroics in the just-concluded T20I series against England as the team management wants the KKR mystery spinner to "keep up the momentum".
