A new Grok feature touches on the App Store’s rules for sexual content, which is something that Apple has shown it doesn’t mess around with.
Makers of the chatbot program Grok apologized for "horrific behavior that many experienced" after users reported multiple antisemitic responses.
But after the chatbot developed by Elon Musk’s start-up xAI ranted for hours about a second Holocaust and spread conspiracy theories about Jewish people, the company responded by deleting some of the troubling posts and sharing a statement suggesting the chatbot just needed some algorithmic tweaks.
The announcement of the $200 million contract to xAI comes less than a week after Grok came under fire for sharing antisemitic comments.

The announcement comes days after Grok spewed antisemitic and racist statements to its users, including praise for Adolf Hitler and “the white man.” It also referred to itself as “MechaHitler.” The debacle kick-started a wave of celebration amongst online extremists, many of whom called for the creation of more hateful AI chatbots.
Since Elon Musk acquired X, formerly known as Twitter, he has received criticism over content moderation policies that allow hate speech. After a recent coding change for X’s artificial intelligence chatbot, Grok reportedly used antisemitic language in its replies. It has since received an update.
