Flooding coupled with saturated soils and landslides triggered by Tuesday’s drenching rain, has caused multiple road closures across the region.

The NWS San Francisco CA issued a flood warning at 11:10 p.m. on Monday in effect until Wednesday at 10 p.m. The NWS states, "Urban areas and small streams flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected for central Sonoma county."

The National Weather Service on Tuesday issued a flood warning for Sonoma County due to excessive rainfall across the region. The warning is in effect through 10 p.m. Wednesday, the weather service said.

Six schools are closed due to storm-related impacts, according to the Sonoma County Office of Education. Six schools will be closed Wednesday after a day of heavy rain triggered flooding and multiple landslides, including one that sent a vacation home into the Russian River, school officials said.

On Saturday at 9:35 p.m. the NWS San Francisco CA issued an updated flood advisory in effect until Sunday at 4 a.m.
