Large parts of England and Wales continue to be battered by heavy rain on Tuesday as the threat of flooding remains from Storm Herminia. The Met Office has a yellow weather warning for rain covering south Wales,

The yellow rain warning across Wales and the West Midlands predicts some places seeing as much as 40mm of rain on top of a widespread 20 to 30mm of rain expected, as well as isolated totals of 50 to 60mm through Tuesday before rain and showers begin to ease in the evening.

Wet and windy weather will continue to batter parts of the UK over the next few days, as Storm Herminia makes its mark. As our map show, the Environment Agency (EA) has put 52 flood warnings in place across south west England.

There are four flood alerts still in place for Kent this morning (Tuesday, January 28) following the wet and windy start to the week. A yellow weather warning for wind was in effect until 6am this morning as the county endured gales exceeding 50mph.

The Met Office has issued a yellow alert for rain covering parts of southern England running until 10am on Tuesday, warning of heavy rain, possible thunderstorms and flooding. It comes after gusts of 84mph and almost 60mm of rainfall hits parts of southern England on Monday.
