Israel’s military said Monday it was striking around Iran’s western city of Kermanshah, as fears of a wider regional conflict loomed large after the United States inserted itself into Israel’s war by attacking Iranian nuclear sites.

Satellite images analyzed by The New York Times show the extent of damage at the three nuclear facilities hit by the United States. Fordo is Iran’s most critical nuclear enrichment facility, housed deep inside a mountain to shield it from attacks.
