President Donald Trump announced on July 7 that the U.S. would continue to deliver military aid to Ukraine, after Pentagon officials had ordered some deliveries paused.

The package could include defensive Patriot missiles and offensive medium-range rockets, but a decision on the exact equipment has not been made, the sources said.

Additionally, he said he'd issued a similar warning to Chinese President Xi Jinping, should the Chinese leader invade Taiwan, the book said.

Wednesday’s attacks underscore Ukraine’s urgent need for weapons.
