A s Storm Floris continues to hit, the Met Office has warned it is likely to bring a spell of unseasonably strong and potentially disruptive winds across Northern Ireland. The yellow warning hit the north from 6am on Monday, bringing gale force winds, while there are weather alerts throughout much of the UK.

With Storm Floris predicted to bring winds of up to 90mph to parts of the northern UK, travellers are being urged to postpone their journeys.

Heavy wind and rain is expected, with weather warnings also in place across much of the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

The Met Office issued an amber weather warning for much of Scotland and yellow alerts for parts of Northern Ireland and northern England.
