Because of the calendar, Social Security recipients who get Supplemental Security Income benefits get two checks in May, but no check in June.

Some Social Security recipients will receive two payments in May. More than 7.4 million recipients of Supplemental Security Income, administered by the Social Security Administration, will be paid Thursday, May 1 and then again on Friday, May 30. The second May payment is due to June 1 – the regular payment date- falling on a Sunday.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a federal assistance program that provides financial support to individuals who are 65 or older, blind, or living with a qualifying disability, and who have limited income and resources.
