According to a Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office social media post, the house was unoccupied and fell due to a mudslide.

The mudslide was reported at approximately 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Westside Road and Rio Vista Road in Forestville, the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post. The house, which was unoccupied, was later spotted downstream, Wood said.
