President Trump has left no doubt about where he stands on one of the most ferocious debates in American sports over the past 35 years: He thinks disgraced Cincinnati Reds legend Pete Rose should be in the Hall of Fame.

Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred said he discussed Pete Rose with President Donald Trump at a meeting two weeks ago and he plans to rule on a request to end the sport’s permanent ban of the career hits leader,

Rose most recently applied for reinstatement in 2015, an appeal rejected by Manfred in his first year as commissioner.
