The former U.S. Army soldier accused of gunning down four people at a Montana bar has been captured following a weeklong manhunt.

Michael Paul Brown, the suspect accused by police of opening fire inside a Montana bar and killing four people has been taken into custody, PEOPLE can confirm. According to sources with knowledge of the situation, Brown was taken into custody behind The Ranch Bar just west of Anaconda on Highway 1.

Authorities had been searching for the suspect who shot and killed 4 people last week at a bar in Anaconda, Montana.
