Student loans are falling into serious delinquency, with payments overdue by at least 90 days, quicker than in prior years and much faster compared to other debt types.

Millions of student borrowers could begin having their wages garnished as soon as this summer. That's according to estimates from credit bureau TransUnion.

The credit through the Maryland Higher Education Commission is available to taxpayers who took on at least $20,000 in loans.
