An adaptation of Atlee's 2016 Tamil hit Theri, Baby John has turned out to be one of the biggest Bollywood flops.

South actress Keerthy Suresh, who made her Bollywood debut with Varun Dhawan's Baby John has revealed she was signed for the film because of a suggestion by another actress.

Varun discussed the adoption process, saying, "There was a definite purpose why Atlee presented this film to us. In order to use it as an adaptation rather than a true remake, we had to change a lot of the topography.
