The Chicago Bears prioritized the retooling of their offensive line through several moves, including the acquisitions of Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson via trade and the signing of Drew Dalman in free agency. It was a top priority for new head coach Ben Johnson to build his offense.

Offensive lineman Jonah Jackson was headed towards another murky season with the Los Angeles Rams. While he was making plenty of money, his fit inside the organization didn’t seem to make sense.

The Chicago Bears on Wednesday acquired offensive linemen Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson via trade. Thuney was acquired from the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for a 2026 fourth-round selection from the Bears and Jackson was acquired from the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for a 2025 sixth-round selection from Chicago (via Pittsburgh).
