Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Warnings continue in the mountains through this evening before the snow gradually comes to an end.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) -Western Colorado is quiet and dry, but snow is hammering the Central Mountains. Snow has been falling nearly all night in Summit County. I-70 is covered by snow in many areas, and travel conditions are unideal, with areas of reduced visibility.

Colorado’s mountains are forecast to welcome New Year’s Day with a round of snow. Light snow is expected to begin falling Wednesday afternoon and evening, becoming heavier overnight and into Thursday morning,

On-and-off snow will continue across the mountains of Colorado throughout the weekend and into early next week. This coincides with the busiest next 7 to 10 days of the ski season, as many celebrate the new year at the ski resorts.
