An Air India crash Thursday involved a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, which the aircraft manufacturer first delivered 14 years ago.
The aircraft crashed into the campus of a medical college in Meghaninagar moments after taking off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at 1:39 pm on June 12, killing 241 out of 242 on board as well as 29 on the ground.
The cause of the AI171 accident, which killed 241 people on board and more than 50 on the ground when the 787-8 crashed into a residential area in Ahmedabad shortly after take-off on Thursday, remains unknown,
It could take months to fully understand what went wrong in the crash, the first involving a Dreamliner. Officials from India continued the investigation Friday.
