The man who walked away from the Air India plane crash as the disaster's only survivor was sitting near an emergency exit on the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.

Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, the sole survivor of the Air India plane crash, said he doesn't know how he 'came out' of the tragedy 'alive' amid reports that the death toll has risen to at least 290 people.

All but one of the 242 people on board the London-bound flight died when it crashed into a residential area in Ahmedabad shortly after take-off.
